Optometrist Referers
Eye examinations are available to the general public as well as the University community. Consultations are conducted by final year students fully supervised by experienced practicing optometrists who are staff of the University of Melbourne. No charge is made for examinations conducted at the clinic and Medicare benefits are not utilised. Patients will therefore have access to their full Medicare entitlements to optometry services on their return to your care.
The clinic welcomes referals for contact lens, low vision and occupational eye care as well as general optometric examination. Supervising optometrists hold therapeutic endorsements and as part of the therapeutic teaching program for current undergraduate students the clinic is able to prescibe medications available to therapeutically endorsed optometrists.
The Clinic offers a range of diagnostic equipment not accessable in mainstream optometry practice.
